It is imperative that environmental consideration and its management in development planning play a crucial role in enabling and sustaining poverty reduction. To overcome environmental problems, the Government, NGOs, & INGOs have successfully applied and stressed for potential intervention through policy and legislative measures and various economic instruments. This paper highlights briefly the present main environmental issues in Nepal, and stresses the potential intervention through various measures to mitigate the perceived environmental problems.
